- Superchlorinate pool water using an EPA-registered chlorinating product as prescribed on labels.
- Adjust pH to a range of 7.2 to 7.6 using a test kit.
- Add product to the skimmer. Ensure the filter is clean with full pressure drop and recirculate water continuously for 24 hours to dissolve properly.
- Add 1 pound per 4,000 gallons of pool water to provide 30 ppm of isocyanuric acid. Maintain an acid level of 30 to 50 ppm using a test kit.
- If using EPA-registered chlorine products with a stabilizer, maintain a minimum of 1.5 ppm available chlorine residual. Otherwise, keep a residual of 1.0 to 1.5 ppm.
- Begin regular chlorine feeding with an EPA-registered granular or tablet chlorine as directed on the product label.
