The Hayward High Limits, formerly know as model HDXFHLI001 now HDXFHLI400, are critical safety components for Universal HC Series HDF400 heaters. These high limit switches ensure the heater operates within safe temperature ranges, automatically shutting off the unit if the water temperature exceeds safe levels. This prevents overheating and potential damage to the heater, ensuring longevity and reliable performance. Designed for durability and precision, these high limits are essential for maintaining safe and efficient pool heating operations.

Highlights

  • Critical Safety Components: Essential for Universal HC Series HDF400 heaters, ensuring the unit operates within safe temperature ranges.
  • Automatic Shut-Off for Safety: Automatically shuts off the heater if the water temperature exceeds safe levels, preventing overheating and potential damage.
  • Prevents Overheating: Protects the heater from overheating, which extends its longevity and ensures reliable performance.
  • Durable and Precise Design: Built for durability and precision, these high limits are designed to provide consistent and dependable operation.
  • Essential for Safe Heating Operations: Crucial for maintaining safe and efficient pool heating operations, ensuring the heater functions optimally.

Compatibility

  • Compatible with  Universal HC Series HDF400 Heaters

Error Codes

Potential error codes that may require you to replace your High Limits are:

HS - High temperature sensing error

  • A) Inlet water temperature sensor is reporting a temperature in excess of 104°F. Normal operation resumes 2 minutes after inlet water temperature sensor reports temperatures of 104°F or less. This error functions for both normal and remote thermostat modes. or

  • B) Inlet water temperature sensor is reporting a temperature change at a rate faster than 6°F in 60 seconds or less while the heater is firing, indicating a potentially damaging low water flow condition. Normal operation resumes when temperatures stabilize. If this condition is detected 3 times in a one hour period, the heater will lockout.
