ModeBursts to full speed on a schedule to pull surface debris, then drops back down.

Get the Water They Were Sized For. Every piece of equipment on your pad has a flow it needs. A heater wants enough water to fire. A salt cell needs flow to make chlorine. A pressure cleaner needs pressure. When the pump speed is fixed and the filter clogs, all of them drift low at once. In Auto Inverter mode you pick a GPM between 35 and 185 and the pump changes its speed to hold that number. Clean filter, dirty filter, valve half closed, it compensates.
- Set flow in 5 GPM steps, 35 to 185 GPM
- Pressure-sensing speed adjustment, no flow meter to install
- Speed or flow cap so you never overpressure a sand filter
- Four daily timer periods, each with its own speed or flow

Or Let the Automation Do It. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth pair the pump to the Moov Pool Ai app. Switch modes, dial in a flow, set the four timers, run a backwash, and watch real-time power draw and a running consumption history. Share access with the rest of the household. For a full automation system, the RS-485 Modbus port and three digital speed inputs let the controller take over.
- Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth, app control and scheduling
- Live watts and kWh history in the app
- RS-485 Modbus plus 3 digital inputs (40 / 80 / 100% presets)
- Two onboard relays (5 A and 16 A) to switch other equipment
The MP3AI is Moov’s largest Ai pump at 2.7 total HP and up to 189 GPM. It replaces 2.5 to 3 HP single-speed or variable-speed pumps on larger residential pools, pools with attached spas, and pools with water features that need real flow. If you are replacing a 1.5 to 2 HP pump on a standard pool, look at the MP2AI or MP165AIDV instead. Oversizing wastes the inverter savings.
Manual sets a percentage of full speed, 30% to 120%, and holds that speed. Auto sets a flow in GPM, 35 to 185, and the pump changes its speed to keep that flow as filter pressure changes. Use Auto if you have a heater, salt cell, or in-floor cleaning system that needs a specific flow. Use Manual if you just want quiet turnover.
A 20 A breaker on a 220-240V circuit, and Moov requires GFCI protection. The manual calls for 14 AWG supply wire and an 8 AWG copper bond to the pool structure. Have a licensed electrician do the hookup. Moov voids the warranty on units not installed by a qualified technician.
Yes, two ways. RS-485 Modbus for systems that speak it, or three digital inputs that force preset speeds (40%, 80%, 100% by default, all adjustable) when a controller closes the contact. Digital input overrides RS-485, which overrides the panel. The pump also has two dry-contact relays rated 5 A and 16 A to switch other loads.
Moov rates the Ai pumps at an average 50% seasonal reduction versus a single-speed pump. The savings come from running most of the day at 30% to 50% speed, where an inverter motor draws a small fraction of full power, and only ramping up for skimming, cleaning, or heating. The app shows live watts and a history so you can see it for your own pool.
Yes, for permanently installed spas and hot tubs with water under 122°F. It is not for storable or inflatable pools, and it must not be installed under a spa skirt or inside an enclosure.
